Light In Many Nations
What do 40 people ages 18 to 61, from 5 continents and 15 countries have in common? We all love Jesus. This summer my husband and I have the privilege to give leadership to an internship in Thailand. This 4-week adventure brings together young people from around the world who are interested in serving God with their administrative skills. These skills include accounting, conference and event planning, technology, and information management. In addition, this learning experience will include growing in their relationship with the Lord. As people from many nations are coming together, we wanted something to study that would be easy to use, scripture-based and allow for everyone to participate. That’s when we knew 4 weeks of the NBS2GO LIGHT Bible study would be a perfect fit. The LIGHT study is translated in over 50 languages, so we can provide the study in their heart languages. The LIGHT study includes 32 stories of Jesus’ life, the people He met, His miracles, and His messages. NBS2GO keeps its format to one page. The same passage is read repeatedly for five days. For three days, the reader makes observations from the passage. Application is encouraged during days four and five. When you go through it as a group, everyone is an active participant because the study is so unintimidating. NBS2GO makes studying the Bible really fun. How simple is that? It’s wonderful to have resources ready to use that will meet the needs for spiritual growth among a diverse group of people. How incredible to know that God’s word stands true for all people, all times, and all cultures.
It’s exciting to see the places around the world that access the website for resources for Bible study. Last month we had 1,800+ visits to our site, many from around the world. Two years ago I was thrilled when a student asked if he could take the materials home to his mom in Fiji. Of course! How wonderful to know God can use us and the people he brings across our path to be a link to the Bible. You never know where God might take His truth through you this summer. Maybe you or someone you know are going on a mission trip this summer and could use these simple studies. I invite you to print off a few copies of the study in the language of your host country to use or pass around while you are there. Or maybe you are staying home this summer, but you have a neighbor from another country who you could introduce to the Bible through these gospel stories. Pray and ask God to bring someone in your path this summer.
