5 Ways to Love Your Neighbors at Valentine’s
Valentine’s Day is often associated with romance, cards, and candy—but it’s also a beautiful opportunity to reflect God’s love right where we live. Scripture reminds us that loving those closest to us is at the heart of following Jesus:
“Love your neighbor as yourself.” — Mark 12:31 (NIV)
This Valentine’s season let’s be intentional about reaching the neighbors God has placed in our lives. Take 3 minutes and prayerfully consider whom the Lord may put on your heart. Here are five simple, meaningful ways to purposefully extend God’s love to your neighbors:

1. Share a heartfelt note
Write a note that says, “I’m glad that God made us neighbors!” Add a few sentences about how thankful you are to live near them. You can also print a ready-made card from Canva.com if that’s easier.
2. Bless a single friend or widow
Pick up flowers or chocolates and share them with someone who may feel overlooked on Valentine’s Day. A small gift can communicate great love.
3. Love on the children nearby
Print a simple craft or make Valentines for or with children in your neighborhood. It’s a fun way to connect and bring joy to families.
4. Reach out to those on your heart
Take a moment to intentionally communicate God’s love to people you know who may be lonely, depressed, discouraged, or grieving. A call, text, or visit can make a lasting difference.
5. Send encouragement through worship or Scripture
Send a message that includes your favorite worship song or a Bible verse about God’s love. You never know how God might use it.
As we celebrate Valentine’s Day, may we remember that God’s love is meant to be shared—starting with our neighbors. Let’s pray for open eyes, open hearts, and bold love as we point others to Jesus.
