PRAY FOR NEIGHBORS
My Prayer Walking Plan
Plan
Having a routine helps us maintain discipline in our prayer life. Choose days and times you hope to walk and put them on your calendar to begin prayer-walking on a regular basis.
Invite
Are there others you might invite to join in praying for your neighbors?
“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
Matthew 18:19-21
Pray by Name
When possible, pray for people by name, asking God to give you opportunities to serve them and build relationships with them. Prayerfully follow through. Consider using an HOA directory, team roster, class list or workplace job chart to remember names you don’t know at all or well. Apps/sites like Bless Every Home are also tools that can send notifications to pray for specific people and locations. Consider recording the names and needs of neighbors to bring with you on your walk.
Pray God’s Word
It’s difficult to know what to pray when we don’t know the specifics of a person’s life, but we can still lift them up very intentionally by praying God’s word over them since He’s already shown us His heart for people!
